Who We Are at Help The Birds Today
Our History
Help The Birds Today started with providing a foster home for several surrendered cockatiels. We are individuals that not only help where we can with rescue, foster, safe haven for aging end of life, and emergency rescue but also support other avian lovers in the community. Soon to be a federal non-profit animal shelter, Our dedication to the well-being of our bird friends what drives us every day.
Our Facilities
Plans are for a private facility large enough to not have to turn any injured, lost or surrendered bird away. The current facilities are in a private home. The smaller bird flock (Cockatiels, Love
birds. Conyur, parakeets) reside in custom made indoor walk-in aviaries. The Blind birds reside in their own cages and designed for ease of movement. Whenever possible private cages are set up for mated "couples". Birds are quaranteened and checked over by a vet before joining the flock. We aim to provide the best possible environment for the avian friends in our care. The aviaries are made with stainless steel wire. Water facilities are set up for the larger birds appropriate for their species. Diet whenever possible is freshly made daily.
